Hello! I’m Matt – the wordsmith behind this portfolio. I’m a non-traditional student and a recent graduate of the University of Virginia (’25). An innate focus on writing, communications, and languages are accompaniments to being a psychology major. I had never imagined that I would be scouted or admitted to study at UVA, so you can imagine my shock to have earned more grades of ‘A+’ than ‘A’, graduating With Highest Distinction, earning the award for “Highest GPA” (valedictorian), being inducted into honor societies, serving as a peer mentor, or tutoring classmates in writing at all hours – for fun.

In the fall of 2025, I will have begun pursuing a master’s degree at Harvard University. A passion project involving a Psy.D. and a private clinical practice are two beacons of a journey. I am in earnest.

When time is free, I enjoy researching, reading, and retaining what I learn across subjects, practicing languages and dialects, writing across genres, travel, skiing, finding the proverbial hidden gems, creating, science, tech, cinema, art, the human brain, theoretical physics, conversations, ideas, perspectives, laughter, music, food, the human condition, and seeking the kinds of experiences which create the most enduring varieties of memories. If I ever might seem like I’m rolling in the proverbial deep, ‘heady,’ or off on a lark, rest assured that I’m down to Earth and (usually) fun to be around.

Culture, nature, Hygge, and wanderlust are balance itself. Music can be heard playing whenever near.
